Yes you are the hero of your story.
Every book needs a hero, a plot, a bad guy or two, a love interest, action, distraction, great supporting roles, sad and happy events and a finale.
All through the book there is a thread that runs in and out of each event. It is the stable influence that makes the book a successful novel. It is the reason why the hero takes great risks and accomplishes the impossible no matter the outcome.
In our book (life) that God has written for us we are the main character. God is the thread that runs through it, that helps us to accomplish the impossible no matter what. We are the hero/heroine. But often a reluctant one. We shy away from God's plan (story line) because we don't feel ready, able or worthy.
What we forget is that we are the main character, we can't just take off because we don't like the script, or the person/s supporting us. God has written the book for us. An individual, one off, best seller. Greater than an Oscar winning, Booker Prize winner.
As the central character our role is to create the most authentic, mind blowing performance of all time. Our Director expects no less as the Greatest Book Writer in the Universe. He wouldn't have written our script if we were not able to fulfill its role. He chose us for the role, he has every confidence that we can excel at it.
We have the starring role in our own unique book, fashioned in Words and Beauty. We were spoken into being. Are we prepared to be hero's/heroines of God's Words? To perform a life long Oscar performance for our Creator? To live lives that are Christ like, Love like, empowering others to take on their starring roles and to become versions of excellence in our own stories.
Philippians 4:8
Finally brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.
Yes we must think and act on these things as we imitate God in our Christian lives, taking lessons from the Author who has spoken us into being.
God's choice of hero/heroine is no mistake, He wants us to be champions of and for His Love. We are His chosen main characters, and although we are flawed and make mistakes we are still His choice.
Colossians 3:23-24
Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.
