Hebrews 12: 12-13
Therefore, strengthen the hands that are weak and the knees that are feeble, and make straight paths for your feet, so that the limb which is lame may not be put out of joint, but rather be healed. Pursue peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no one will see the Lord.
We all have days when we feel feeble and weak, and we wonder if our feet can walk the path God has chosen for us. These are the days when we may not want to praise the Lord for His many blessings and His sacrifice for our life. However, this is exactly the time when we need to rise up above the weakness and raise our hands in praise. when we need to walk to the Word of God, open the pages and sing to Him for His help as He is the Hope that we need in our feebleness.
Through His word we need to bind the thoughts of weakness and feebleness and loose the Spirit of Hope.
Psalms 3:2-6
Many are saying of me, "God will not deliver him." "Selah" But you are a shield around me, O LORD; you bestow glory on me and lift up my head. To the LORD I cry aloud, and he answers me from his holy hill. "Selah" I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the LORD sustains me. I will not fear the tens of thousands drawn up against me on every side.
It is only God who can help us in these times. The sly breaths of doubt will tempt us to stay away from God's word, take our limp hands and tell us that we are beaten. This lie will lead us away from God's Truth, make us feel weak and feeble like Job's lament "I cry to you, O God, but you don't answer. I stand before you, but you don't even look." To this we must cry out the Victory hymn.
When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: "Death has been swallowed up in victory." "Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?" The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
Yes, life is not easy, yes, life throws us some lemons, yes, we are only human. That is why we need the divine, all powerful Word that fights these statements. We need Hope and God through his son Jesus Christ and by the insight of the Holy Spirit to guide us is that Trinity of Hope. We need not be hopeless or helpless. God adores us. Christ saved us. The Holy Spirit has been given to us to help us, to give us insight into God's Love so that we can combat the lies that the world pours into our lives.
Father God, may we see through the eyes of the Holy Spirit and be the Love that Jesus is, to ourselves and others, so that we may be the Hopeful people of Easter. Amen
God bless
