Be kind to yourself

So many people today are questioning their life, in the form of their past, present and future. Feelings of inadequacy, wrong paths, bad decisions seem to plague the mind and bring dis at ease to many people. The questions of 'why have others seemingly better lives than me?', 'what have I done wrong to be in this position?' 'when will things start to improve?' are asked.

Unfortunately because of the media we are constantly told that we have failed in our lives. Well that is if you compare your life with others as the press loves to do.

Have we lost the simplicity of why we are here? The purpose for our existence? Have we got railroaded onto the fast train that takes us to our destination and not taken time to walk through life with Jesus.

When we stop for a few moments to re-evaluate our life do we think, 'thank God', or do we think 'oh God'?

How kind are we to ourselves and our efforts that have got us to this stage in life?

The good news is that God is on our side, He is in our corner. He is routing for us, and has great blessings for us, full stop.

Comparing doesn't come into God's plan. You are an individual, you are not a clone. You do not have to be better, the same or less than anyone else. You are you and you were made by God. Where you are now doesn't matter, what matters, is where you go from here. But above all of this, is the question of 'who is your God?' If it is wealth, power, control, greed, fear, powerlessness etc this needs to be realigned with God.

Jeremiah 29:11

"For I know the plans I have for you." Says the Lord. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope."

Isaiah 55:8-11

"My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts," says the Lord. "And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.

The rain and snow come down from the heavens and stay on the ground to water the earth. They cause the grain to grow, producing seed for the farmer and bread for the hungry. It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it."

When we have aligned our lives with God and allow Him to be its director, we shall be able to move in His Grace and Love. Then we shall see with His eyes how our life has come to this point and where it is travelling to. We can change lines and get onto the right train and be compassionate to ourselves and our walk to date. God will use everything we have been through and make it fit for His purpose. Even if it is painful, He will transform it. We are here today to be His servants, and our experiences can and will bring healing to ourselves and others when we allow God to be their expression.

Let our prayer be then, 'Thank you Lord for my life and all its experiences, both good and bad. Empower me now to be your expression of Love and Grace from this moment onward so that through my pains and joys You may be glorified. May I be successful in proclaiming Your richness in my life and may it bring others out of their darkness into Your light. Only Your Love and Word has this power to change my life, help me to arise with You and Your hope. Amen.'

Let God be your breakthrough.

God bless.

So many people today are questioning their life, in the form of their past, present and future.
