Desperate to run away - there is hope

My shoes are in tatters and I am travel weary. The road appears endless. One more leaden step in the wrong direction. If I turn around.....

God never gives up on his children.

My burden is lightened, my aching feet pick up the stride of hope.
From a distance I can see my Father anticipating my arrival, with arms outstretched, he walks, neigh runs to embrace my drooping spirit.

I am found, and He, overcome with emotion, prepares a banquet, a feast fit for a king. I'm not worthy,  but in God's eyes, I am his child, the delight of his heart.

Blessings

Margaret

This is better than gold - outrageous claim

Wisdom is better than gold

Would you ask for wisdom instead of an engagement ring?

Wisdom Job 27:17

How valuable would you rate wisdom over an engagement ring?

Wow, if I was given the choice I would have wisdom as an engagement ring!

Rings come and go depending on the strength of your commitment, but wisdom offers this - Proverbs 4:6-7 don’t turn your back on wisdom, for she will protect you. Love her, and she will guard you. Getting wisdom is the wisest thing you can do! And whatever else you do, develop good judgment.

You just can't buy that!

Thank you for dropping by.

Desert Island Dilemma - what books would you crave for?

Dilemma

Margaret Kazmierczak asks what five books you would want with you on a Desert IslandA fantastic holiday on a desert Island is almost over. You have packed your bags, sport an amazing bronze tan and are waiting for the golf buggy to transport you to the secluded airport.

The gentle wind caresses your cheek and is the only indication of anything moving. Being an adventurous woman you decide to scale a nearby palm tree. From your advantage point, you scan the horizon - the Island is totally deserted.

In a rundown shack, you find a treasure chest full of books. What books would you crave for to be in that casket?

Non-fiction (the bible is already included)?

Fiction?

Choose your favourite five to share in the comments below. A "series" counts for one.

Looking forward to reading your replies.

Margaret

Why laughter is the key to a happy family.

Laughter 😄

The other day I heard audible shrieks of laughter coming from the bedroom. A couple of hours later an exhausted dad descended the stairs, what on earth was going on?

I did not dare to ask.
Margaret Kazmierczak on laughter and a happy family

Will you guess?

The anticipation

Later that day, an excited teenager burst into the sitting room with an "I've got something to show you" look on her face. With bright eyes and a wide grin, she hunkered down next to me. Quizzically I asked. "What are we watching?" "You'll see," came the reply.

Don't take yourself too seriously

Expecting a film or an excerpt from a programme my daughter often raved about, I did not anticipate a homemade video.  The result, however, left me giggling loudly and the sound of laughter roused the other family members to trek in and see what had prompted my outburst.

Now I understood the reason for my hubby's exhaustion. Our daughter had got him to rehearse many times before she was satisfied with the result.

Family thrives on laughter.

He, however, would have preferred to do a video on trains!

Being bias I believe she did a credible job for her first attempt especially in convincing her dad to participate in an activity that did not involve trains.

Laughter a family's best friend

When family laugh together tensions of everyday life that come from close proximity can provide healing. Laughing together is a wonderful way to share.

Without further ado, please be upstanding for....

Dad guesses the prices of girly items.

Job 8:21King James Version (KJV)

Till he fill thy mouth with laughing, and thy lips with rejoicing.

Wow that was powerful - what book rocks your boat?

Wow that was powerful

I have just put my all time favourite book down. The main character is so real on every page, he could be a next door neighbour or a colleague at work. The story gripped me as I read page after page of his heroic deeds that caused division and healing. Its effect will stay with me for the rest of my life. Yes, the good guy won, but he went through a minefield of emotions and personal loss to do so.

Some characters just get you right there in the heart.

Have you read a book like that?

Some characters just get you in the heart.

My question today

My reading has changed over the years. To begin with, I liked autobiographies as I found them inspiring. Then I read Lord Of The Rings, Narnia and Ted Dekker novels and my love for other fictitious worlds grew. With teenagers in the house, I like to read what they are reading so that we can discuss the book and its contents.

So what is your cup of tea in the book world, what doors do you like to open?

Did you guess the book I was reading?

Oh and the name of the book I just finished, The Gospel according to John from the Holy Bible. And the main character was Jesus.

Looking forward to hearing your comments.

Margaret
